Services 1:00 PM, Friday, July 13, 2018, Doyle Cemetery, West of Taft, Old Taft Road

Mrs. Harrien Ruth Hale, a former resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma,  after 71 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from Oklahoma City.

My journey of life began on January 8, 1947 to the union of Walter Tate Sr. and Elizabeth (Elston) Tate in Boynton, OK.  After my mother’s death at a young age, my father married Viola (Henry) Tate who raised my siblings and me as her own.  I graduated valedictorian of my class from Taft Moton High School in 1965.  After high school I attended Langston University and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
I joined the Bethel 7th Day Adventist Church in Kansas City, KS, where I was the church treasurerIn this wonderful journey of life and love, my wonderful children were born. I was employed at the Housing Authority of Kansas City, KS until I returned home to Muskogee, OK, in 1991, where I became a member of Berean SDA church and church treasurer as well.
I attended Indian Capital Vo-tech and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, where I worked at Eddie Warrior and retired from Claremore VA Hospital. After retiring I was taking care of family and cooking for my brothers. I enjoyed making quilts in my spare time and making “snoopy blankets for my children and grandchildren.
After threescore years and eleven, the time the Lord promised he called me home to rest with the words, I loved, I lived and I fought.  I will now be reunited with my parents, Walter, Elizabeth and Viola Tate, my brothers West, Frank, Dwight and Jeff Tate.
My legacy lives on in my children:
LaWane Y. Williams, Harriene ArTisha Hale, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Heiskill Dale Jackson, Robert Michah Jackson, Mt. Vernon, Missouri, my special child, Elizabeth “Fuddy” Small, Kansas City, Kansas.  My devoted mate: Ira Lee Harris, of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
My grandchildren: Toijan Armstrong (Chakeal), Tiarra Andrews, Quinton Hale, Jordan, Jasmine, Makayla & Jorja Jackson, Kaiden & Kynzlee Jackson, Malachi & Henley Jackson. Great-grandson: Chakeal Armstong Jr.  My sisters: Erma Jean Lewis, Tulsa, OK, LauraWalker, Las Vegas, NV, Hazel Tate, Muskogee, OK. My brothers:  Walter Tate Jr., Allen Sherron (Eugenia), Taft, Richard Tate (Danetta), Muskogee; Cleo Durant, Minneapolis, MN, and Pete Durant.
I also leave many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and my childhood friend and sorority sister (Zeta Phi Beta, Inc) Gussie Mae Kennedy-Drain and my brother in love Wesley Thomas Sr

Formerly of Muskogee, Mrs. Hale's life will be remembered at her sacred farewell on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rayfield Baptist Church.  Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., is the gracious host Pastor, and Elder Malcolm J. Phipps, Pastor of Berean Seventh Day Adventist of Muskogee,  will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Doyle Cemetery at Yahola, Oklahoma, just west of Taft.
