Harold Gene McBride, 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. He was born on August 11, 1951 to Clifford Eugene McBride and Anna Faye Tippie in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Harold served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam and received an honorable discharge in 1974. He was chosen as Marine Of The Month while stationed in San Diego, California. Harold was very proud to be a Marine and was very proud of his service.
Harold married the love of his life, Shirley Lena, on June 12, 1987 at the First Indian Church of Muskogee. They shared over 33 years of life and many happy memories together.
Harold was baptized at the age of 16 by Rev. Bill Washington. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford McBride; son, Bryan Dale McBride; daughters, Paulette Doty and Anita Lynn McBride; brothers, Gary Lynn McBride and Darrell “Pee Wee” McBride; and sister, Casandra McBride.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Shirley McBride of the home; mother, Anna Faye McElhaney of Muskogee, OK, sisters, Sandra Glass and husband Joey of Muskogee, OK, Donna Reed and Anna Marie Shepherd both of Muskogee, OK; brothers, Melvin McBride and Johnny McBride both of Muskogee, OK; mother of his children, Sharon Kelly McBride of Muskogee, OK; and other family members and friends.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be 11AM, Monday, July 13, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with the Seminole Nation Honor Guard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh McBride, Phillip Barnoski, Jonathan Barnoski, Wendell Williams, Sr., Wendell Williams, Jr., Leon Lena and Dean Lena.
