THINGS TO DO

Gordon “Jack” Morrow, 87

Born Friday, June 1, 1934

Died Monday, October 18, 2021

Gordon Jack Morrow, AKA Abstract Jack, was born at home in Morton, Texas on June 1, 1934. The family acquired Muskogee Abstract and Title company in 1948 and the Morrow family joined the Muskogee Community.
Jack was number 65 on the Muskogee Roughers State Championship winning Dream Team football team. He was also a boy scout and active in the ROTC.
In 1952 Jack pledged Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Oklahoma. For those of you that know anything about the Fiji house, at OU, no further explanation is needed. He graduated in 1956 with a degree in letters. He was commissioned in the United States Army in 1956. He attended the Fort Sill artillery school and headed to Korea in 1957.
Jack met Lou Ann McCollum in March of 1967 on a blind date. She knew the second she opened the door she was going to marry him. In December of 1967 they were married in the Rowsey Chapel at St. Paul Church in Muskogee. He was and is the wind beneath her wings.
They welcomed their only child, Kristi, in 1968.
Jack was an avid golfer, he loved to ski, he hunted birds with his many friends and he enjoyed fishing as well. The family moved to Still Creek Ranch in 1974 where they bred beautiful Arabian horses and National Show horses. He liked to win.
Jack has two granddaughters, Isa and Kloe, that he adored. He was an Old Maid expert as wall as domino player. Both the girls helped him beat his cancer.
Throughout that entire battle, he never complained or gave up. The girls kept his spirit up the whole time and we all considered the dark time some of the best times because we were in it together.
Jack departed this world October 18, 2021 at his beloved Still Creek home, with his daughter by his side. He is missed by many, but his memory will live on. Good thoughts, good words, good deed. Rest in Peace Abo. Rock on.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Franklin and Cleo Stringer Morrow; sister, Patsy Ruth Voss.
