Glenda Mae Bemo
1935 - 2021
Glenda Mae Bemo was born December 24, 1935. She passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on January 19, 2021. She was eleven years old and was blessed with a new home and a new foster mother, Aileen Hortense Carey Huhnermann, who was the pianist for the church Glenda started attending. She became Glenda's Christian mother even though she could not legally adopt her since, in those days, she had never been married. Glenda had never taken a drink, smoked, or had done lots of other things teenagers usually do since she wanted to try and please her mother and not cause her to have reasons to worry and be unhappy with her. Glenda's mother was such a Godly woman and Glenda loved her very much. Glenda's mother was the sweetest and best grandmother to her children.
It was in 1956 that Glenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She believed the Lord Jesus Christ was the Son of our living God and she confessed to Jesus all her sins and He forgave her and cleansed her from all unrighteousness as He had said He would in 1 John 1:9. Glenda loved Jesus; and He was her life. Her desire was to live a life so others would see Jesus in her and grow hungry for the word of God, and she did.
After graduating High School, Glenda married John David Bemo, Sr. on October 26, 1956. They were married 63 years at the time of his death and they made their home west of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She had a long career at First National Bank & Trust of Muskogee retiring in 1985. She began volunteering for then Muskogee General Hospital to now Saint Francis of Muskogee for 39 years. She had more than 12,508 hours of service.
Glenda attended Southeast Baptist Church and later became a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She loved her church family.
She was a member of Muskogee Garden Club, loved working in her flower beds and had a very beautiful yard. She also loved working Sudoku and board puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2019; and foster mother, Aileen Hortense Carey Huhnermann in 1983. Glenda always said, "when I go to heaven, I first want to see Jesus, my husband and my mother, because I know they will be waiting for me."
Glenda is survived by her daughter, Sharee Crabtree and her husband, Kenneth; two sons, John "David" Bemo, Jr. and his fiancée Erline Ritchie; Lonnie Bemo and wife Rhonda all of Muskogee; grandchildren, Shawn Bemo and wife Ashley, Amanda Rains and Quentin Norris, Kevin Bemo and wife Mallie, all of Muskogee; Ashley Moelling and husband James, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Lacy Rosson and husband John, of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma; Alisha Andrews and husband Josh of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Melissa Crawford and husband Patrick of Nederland, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brooke Real, Eva Norris, Chase, Claire, Kate, Adelyn, Harper and Hazel Bemo all of Muskogee, Jackson Bemo from Midwest City, Carson, Landon, and Blake Moelling, all of Edmond, Oklahoma, Alexia and Aiden Bemo, Julian Rosson, all of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, Cameron, Alexis and Sarah Crawford all of Nederland, Texas.
