Gary Richard Wilson, 65, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020. He was born on May 10, 1954 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Oren Wilson and Lucinda Lucille (Scuggins) Wilson. He attended and graduated from McAlester High School and Christian Brothers University (CBU). He married the love of his life Galia Jo (Benton) Wilson on June 19, 1988 in Crowder, Oklahoma.
Gary proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He loved to ride motorcycles and was a part of the Combat Vets 10-2 and the American Legion Post 15, where he served as Commander. He retired from TCI to open and run his own business, Data Video Systems.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Oren Wilson and Lucinda Lucille Wilson, sisters Doodle Hayes and Regina Fern Wilson; brother, E.J. Wilson.
He is survived by Galia Wilson, spouse, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; Aimee (Donald) Acuff, daughter, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Carrie (Spencer) Miller, daughter, of Collierville, Tennessee; Casey (Chris Walls) Bates, son, of Dallas, Texas; Jacob (Melissa) Wilson, son, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Tammy Wilson, daughter, of Hornlake, Mississippi; Travis (Brooke) Wilson, son, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; siblings, Dorothy Ellington of Enid, Oklahoma, Bob Wilson of Checotah, Oklahoma, Jean Reeves of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Peggy Fulkersin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Fran Mattias of Shawnee , Oklahoma, Jerry Wilson of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Becky Schorr of Porter, Oklahoma, Betty Joslyn of Homer, Alaska, Lou Medley of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Terry Adams of Ovalo, Texas; and grandchildren, Briana and Madison, Jeremy, Joshua, Alex and Kyle, Ethan and Evan, Keirleigh and Chancli, Hadlee and Kaylee.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held 10:00am Friday, March 20, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnie Echols officiating. Jacob Wilson and Carrie Miller will be conducting Family Remembrances. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Barrett Medley, Dustin Medley, Billy Taylor, Derek Taylor, Ivan Taylor, and Jeremy Henson serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Riley, Colby Winford, Jimmy Colvin, Carmine Capparello, Joshua Henson, Danny Almendarez, and Dan Hobbs.
