Evelyn Kathleen “Kitty” (Smith) Gilman, 101, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2019. She was born on January 12, 1918 to Edward Earl Smith and Lelia (Hansborough) Smith in Carlton, Mississippi. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and also lived in California for a short time.
Kathleen was a hairdresser for many years and adored all of her clients. She also worked as a practical nurse and loved giving care to all of her patients. Kathleen loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Smith and Lelia Smith-McCarty; siblings, Edward Earl Smith, Jr., E. Juanita Strauss, and Ellery Suggs Smith.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Pam Dahlstrom Jones of Washington; nieces Linda Miller of Texas and Jan Strauss of Muskogee, OK; nephews, John McClelland of Tahlequah, OK, and James Strauss of Shawnee, OK; and many other family members and friends.
Private family services are planned for a later date.
