Enos Clayton Jr., 90

Born Sunday, October 21, 1928

Died Thursday, May 9, 2019

On October 21st, 1928, a bouncing baby boy, the 1st of 10 children, was born to Enos and Effie Clayton. They named him Enos Clayton Jr.

He attended school in Muskogee, OK thru high school where he graduated from Manual Training High School in 1947. He excelled in his studies at Langston University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

He entered the United States Army on October 10th, 1951 thru July 31st 1952 where he was honorably discharged for medical reasons.

He met and later married Joyce Laurine Watson. This union was blessed with 4 children. Mr. Clayton joined Macedonia Baptist Church, declaring his belief in God as Lord and Savior of his life.

He participated in all activities of the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Effie Clayton. His siblings: three sisters and one brother, Barbara Jean Prudhomme, Marie Denwitty, Naomi Lowe, and Isaiah Clayton.

He leaves behind his wife, Joyce Clayton. His children, Naomi (Leon) Crawford of Tulsa, Barbara (David) Huffman of Tulsa, Laura (Rodney) Marshall of Tulsa, and Enos Clayton III of Muskogee, OK; his siblings, Velma Robinson of Ocala, Florida ,Margaret Walker of Muskogee, John (Barbara) Clayton of Muskogee, Louise (Will) Pickens of Bakersfield, California, Lorene (Tommy) Reed of Linwood, California. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special family Bernice Walker and Mr. And Mrs. Michael Nicholson and family.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Friday, May, 17, 2019 at 11 a.m., Macedonia Baptist Church, 418 W. Shawnee, Muskogee, OK. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be Thursday, 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home, Muskogee.
