Edward Monroe Marshall Jr., 60 of Wagoner, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019. He was born January 28, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward Monroe Marshall Sr. and Faye Ellen Marshall. He attended Leonard Public School until the 8th grade and then attended Bixby High School where he was a graduate of The Class of 1977.
Ed met Sherry Lu Phillips on November 8, 2008 at her work and 2 months later asked her for a date. They married on March 1, 2014 at Stidham Baptist Church and made many happy memories together.
Early in life, Ed attended Leonard Baptist Church and was baptized at Haskell Lake. He then attended Lindsay Chapel Baptist Church.
He had a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and horses; but most important was his family, whom he loved more than life. For years, Ed worked with his family as a commercial roofer at Marshall Roofing and later at Keith’s Hardware in Fort Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Marshall, Audrey Marshall Burns, Frank Burns, Charlie Lee, and Carrie Lee; grandson, Noah Jones; and uncle, Dale Marshall.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sherry of the home; father, Edward Monroe Marshall Sr.; mother, Faye Ellen Marshall Hathcoat; children, Terra Faye Marshall Jones and husband Robbie, Chris Marshall and wife Katy, Trevor Marshall and wife Jacqua, Shelby Steele and husband Jason, Dax Marshall, and Jessie Joplin; grandchildren, Zachariah Jones, Isaiah Jones, Faith Jones, Kamden Jones, Wyatt Stepp, Treyce Marshall, Nova Marshall, Titan Marshall, and Kase Steele; brothers, Robert Marshall and wife Kathy, Matthew Marshall and wife Paula, and Hans Marshall; sister-in-law, Anita Anderson; nieces and nephews, Jessica Shaw, Marshall Shaw, Jamie Balthis, David Balthis, Krystal Stowe, John Stowe, Stacey Tipton, and Luke Tipton; great nieces and nephews, Alexander Shaw, Harrison Shaw, Jadyn Balthis, Conner Balthis, Easton Balthis, Ellie Balthis, Gavin Tipton, Layla Tipton, Kristopher Anderson, Kayla Burris, and April Houston; along with other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Ed’s life will be 11AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Turner and Mr. Patrick Christiansen officiating. Pallbearers will be Ken Stark, Trevor Marshall, Robbie Jones, Chris Marshall, Zachariah Jones, Isaiah Jones, Patrick Christiansen, Wyatt Stepp and Kristopher Anderson “Kritter”.
