Donald Wayne Reece, 87

Born Sunday, May 17, 1931

Died Thursday, December 20, 2018

Donald Wayne Reece, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born May 17, 1931 in Amarillo, Texas to Homa Sly Reece and Artie Jewel (Simpson) Reece. He attended Lubbock Public Schools and furthered his education at Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology and Psychology.
Donald married Eutie Inez Preston on March 8, 1956 in Littlefield, Texas. They shared more than 62 years of life and marriage together.
He worked as a Middle School teacher for most of his career, as well as a field officer for Pinkerton, was a bookstore manager, a regional manager for Field Enterprises, and a Boy Scout Executive. His hobbies included hiking, camping, and spelunking. Donald was also a member of the Laredo Speleological Society and an Eagle Scout. He retired in 1994 to enjoy spending time with his family, watching movies and playing with his cats.
He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homa and Artie Reece; siblings, Shirley Koons and Eldon Reece; daughter, Connie Fraser; and son, Gary Reece.
Donald is survived by his wife, Eutie of Muskogee; sons, Ronald Reece of Texas City, TX and Donald Reece Jr of Sedalia, MO; daughter, Linda Milam of Muskogee, OK; brother, David Reece of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Ronald Reece Jr of Lafayette, IN, Justin Warner of Springfield, MO, Jessica Warner, Stevie Fraser, and Johnny Fraser, all of Phoenix, AZ; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Warner of Phoenix, AZ; nephew, Benjamin Reece of Austin, TX; along with other family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Donald’s life will be 11AM, Saturday, January 5, 2019 @ Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bob Hancock officiating.
