Born Saturday, August 14, 1948

Died Friday, April 2, 2021

Dolores Jean Holland, 82 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born on August 14, 1938 to Claude and Rita Howard in Evansville, Indiana.
She married Leon Holland, Jr. in December 1971 at Bacone Chapel Muskogee, OK. They shared 49 years of marriage and memories together.
Dolores attended Bacone College from 1971 to 1975, graduating as a registered nurse on May 5, 1975. She began her working career at MRMC. She worked there a short while on night shift before going on to work for two different doctor’s offices. She then decided to be a stay-at-home mother and wife. After many years, Dolores decided to go back to work as a RN for Dr. Wilson. When he was forced to move his practice and downsize, she went to work with her daughter, Glenda at Sleep Centers of America. She loved working during those last years until she retired in 2007.
After retiring Dolores enjoyed being a homemaker taking care of anyone who entered her home. She could always find the good in anyone and always had a kind word, and a smile. She had a servant’s heart and touched many lives in such a profound and positive way.
She will always be remembered for being an exceptional wife, mother and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Howard; mother, Mary Rita Schaefer; grandparents, Chris and Ester (Oberhausen) Schaefer; half-brother, Norbert Schaefer; brother-in-law, Raymond Koch; and niece, Amy Kirsh.
