Donald Dale Cox, 81, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Allen Cox and Elsie V. (Chester) Cox on July 13, 1938. He attended and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1956.
Donald worked as a machinist for many years. Over the course of his lifetime he worked for Boeing, Spirit, Donco, and All-State Machines. He was a member at Chandler Road Church of Christ, and also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Muskogee, and most recently First Baptist Church in Wagoner. Donald was a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, target shooting, and playing games like Dominos (Chicken Foot), and telling jokes, especially blonde jokes. Donald umpired softball and basketball games as well.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Elsie; bother, Allen Cox, Jr.; sister, Marjorie Coffey, and first wife Geraldine (Kellogg) Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Collier Cox of Muskogee, Oklahoma; daughter, Dee Hotop and Jim of Woodlands, Texas; granddaughters, Meghan Reese of Mooresville, North Carolina and Amelia Reese of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 great-grandchildren, Makai, and Xavior, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Chester (Ducky) Cox of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Irene Kelso and late Mel Kelso, Bettie Murry and late Al Murry, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wade Robertson officiating. Donald’s nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
