David Lamar Koone, 69

Born Wednesday, October 26, 1949

Died Monday, October 7, 2019

David Lamar Koone, 69, of Tahlequah, OK was born October 26, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ray and Berchie (Taylor) Koone and peacefully passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 in Tahlequah, OK.
David grew up in the Oklahoma City area where he received his formal education. David enlisted in the Air Force on October 7, 1968 in OKC. He served in Vietnam and received an Honorable discharge on October 6, 1972 in Shreveport, LA. David was a self-employed cabinet maker and a member of the VFW. He was affectionately known as Paw Koone. His family chose each other, a few misfits who came together to form a very tight nit family. He was a loving father figure, a compassionate listener and a very good role model. His prayer everyday was for God to keep him mindful of the needs of others.
David’s life will be celebrated with love, honor and respect on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery by his family, Charles Stamps, Danielle Martin and April Smith.
The family of David Lamar Koone has entrusted his cremation to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Fort Gibson. 918-478-2555
