Dale Holcomb Garrigues, Jr., 74 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on January 10, 2021 with his family by his side. Dale was born on March 29, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland and lived in Long Beach, California where he met his wife Sherry. In 1977 Dale and his family moved to Oklahoma. He was a barber for 52 years, 42 of those years in Muskogee, Oklahoma where he met and befriended the citizens of Muskogee. Dale loved fishing, and fished all over the country, but loved bass fishing in Oklahoma the most. He volunteered at the Muskogee Community Foodbank and found great joy in helping others. He attended church at the First Community Church of Oktaha where he loved helping the fall carnival with candy.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Elizabeth Garrigues; wife, Sherry Garrigues; sister Carol Craddock; Uncle Fred Blockston; and Aunt Virginia Albrent
He is survived by brother, Kent Garrigues and wife Patricia; sister, Nancy Miller and husband Tom; daughter, Tina Coleman and husband Rodney; son, Dale "Tony" Garrigues; and daughter, Tara Lindsey and husband Greg; grandchildren, Chris Coleman and wife Kaycee, Beth Reese and husband Chris, Sarah Stewart and husband Blake, Nathan Coleman and wife Gabrielea, Ian Lindsey, and Nora Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Logan Coleman, Benjamin Reese, Sophia Coleman, Noelle Coleman, Evelyn Reese and Preston Reese.
Dale’s family have suggested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Muskogee Community Foodbank, 601 E Broadway St, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
A family conducted memorial service will be held at First Community Church of Oktaha on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2pm with Ron Lindsey officiating. Seating is limited and masks are encouraged.
