Connie Lynn (Matthews) Chandler, 49, of Fort Gibson was born August 2, 1969 in Tulsa to Johnnie and Joan (Lamfers) Matthews and peacefully passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at her home with her husband by her side.
Connie received her formal education in Fort Gibson, graduating with the class of 1987 and continued her education at Connors State College and completed her degree in 1993. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. She would move heaven and earth for any one of her family members. Connie was a die hard Oklahoma University sports fan and NASCAR fan. She knew how precious life was and how to enjoy every minute of it while she could. Connie loved many things, summer time, the lake, boating and fishing. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Connie is preceded in death by her brother, Scott Matthews; maternal grandparents, Paul and Celestine Lamfers; paternal grandparents, Houston and Dora Matthews.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jay of the home; sons, Blake Chandler and wife Ashley of Muskogee, OK; and Jake Dickman and wife Crystal of Tulsa; grandsons Houston and Colton Chandler of Muskogee and Asher Dickman of Tulsa; her parents, Johnnie and Joan Matthews of Fort Gibson, OK; brother in law, David Chandler and wife Missy of Muskogee, OK; sister, Cindy Terrell and husband Mike of Gore, OK; sister in law, Ellen and Crystal Chandler of Muskogee, OK; brother in law, John Conn of Muskogee, OK; seven nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Three Rivers Cowboy Church in Muskogee with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM.
A service celebrating Connie’s life is scheduled for 10AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Three Rivers Cowboy Church in Muskogee with Pastor Glen Rowan officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Blake Chandler, Clint Goodwin JR., Buddy Devor, Jackie Parker, Travis Terrell and Bubba Terrell. Honorary casket bearers are Eddy Lyons, Joshua Kingery, Mike Terrell and Jake Dickman.
Committal prayers and internment will be at a later date.
