Clifford Wayne Long, 76

Born Tuesday, April 14, 1942

Died Wednesday, October 10, 2018

Clifford “Wayne” Long, 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma departed for his eternal life early Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1942 to James (Gus) and Essie Long. Wayne attended Muskogee Central High School and graduated in 1961. He joined the United States Army after high school where he served in Germany. After returning home, Wayne attended Bacone and Northeastern State University with a Mathematics Major. After college, he married and worked at Coburn Optical for 35+ years as a CNC programmer.
He enjoyed sports and was a very good dancer. In his later years, he spent a lot of time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, James A. (Bucky), John Long, and Sherman Long; 3 sisters, Katherine Long, Nancy Fenton, and Sally Robertson; and brother in law, J A Eller.
Survivors include his son, Brian Long and wife Carla of the home; 2 grandchildren, Colby Long and wife Alyson of Muskogee, and Mikayla Long of Glenpool; great-granddaughter, Presley of Muskogee; 2 sisters, Joyce Eller, Faye Curry and husband Steve, all of Muskogee.
A family conducted memorial service will be 10AM, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Fort Gibson Church of Christ.
