Charles Robert Edwards, 68

Died Tuesday, April 20, 2021

Charles Robert “Charlie” Edwards, 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born on August 20, 1952 in Miami, Oklahoma to John Robert Edwards and Edna Bernice Pilant-Edwards. He graduated from Will Rogers High School with the class of 1971.
Charlie served in the United States Air Force as a maintenance mechanic and worked on jets. He received an honorable discharge in 1972.
He worked as a machinist at Baker-Hughes for many years until his retirement. Charlie also worked at the VA Hospital in a warehouse. He loved going fishing whenever he had a chance, watching the Mecum Car Auctions, building models and canning. Charlie loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice Edwards.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lummus; his son Jason Edwards and wife Carey Edwards; his grandchildren, Katie Haikey and husband Ronald, Lauren Carter and husband Christopher, Austin Barnett, Mary Lummus, Alyson Edwards and Mikenzie Edwards; his brother, Johnny Edwards; his sister, Linda Norton; niece, Carol; and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be 2PM, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
