Charles Alonzo Wright, 88

Born Thursday, December 22, 1932

Died Tuesday, October 19, 2021

On December 22, 1932, a son was born to Precious and Katie (Turner) Wright in Plain Dealing, LA. They named him Charles Alonzo Wright

“In fact, also, when we were with you, we gave you this rule: If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat.” Thessalonians 3:10

Charles began his education and graduated from the Rentiesville, OK school system. On April 29, 1953 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge, May 18, 1955. After his military service, he became a proficient and hard worker working in maintenance for the Corp of Engineers.

“Further, God blessed them and God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.” Genesis 1:28

Charles was united in marital bliss, and was blessed with four children, a daughter, Cara Sue Brown precedes him in death. This marriage was later dissolved. Once again Charles found love and happiness and was joined in marital bliss with Sandra Kay (Hall) Wright.

Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was a loyal and faithful member of the Eastside First Baptist Church, Checotah, OK. In later years he was ordained as deacon at the church.

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in St. Francis Medical Center, Muskogee, OK, God, called Charles Alonzo Wright from labor to reward. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, daughter and grandchildren, Alvin Johnson, Alonzo Johnson and Thomas Brown, and great granddaughter, Gerisa Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Sandra Kaye Wright, of the home; three daughters, Vera (Carlos) Gardner, Grand Prairie, TX, Gloria Ann Ferrell, Tulsa, OK, Fannie Louise Payne, Tulsa, OK; Grandchildren, Ajuania Monique Ferrell, Gerard Thompson, Gerran Thompson, Tatyana Gardner, Katarina Gardner, Dennis Smith Jr. Special cousins, Alice Faye Pouncil and Shirley Stidham, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Betty Working, Charles Milton, Anthony Warrior and Carl Camp.

Graveside rites, will be conducted, Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. in Ft Gibson National Cemetery with Rev. Starla Abraham, eulogizing. Public Visitation, will be Wednesday, Oct. 27th in the Precious Memories Chapel/House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
