Mrs. Brenda Waller, after 73 years, passed from this life on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

On February 19, 1946, Brenda Joyce Coleman was the 1st born to Johnny Coleman and Lenora Henry Coleman. Brenda was a member of the Church of The Living God and as a young child was baptized under Pastor Willie Sherman. She started teaching Sunday school at the sweet age of 7.

At the age of 17, Brenda married Robert Phillips Jr. and to this union was born to children: Rodney Phillips and Shelice Phillips. She later married Charles E. Waller in 1992 until his death.

In 1989, Brenda joined Macedonia Baptist Church under “THE” C.J. Jeffrey Jr. where she served as church clerk from 1989-2018. Throughout the year, Brenda also served as Mission President, Secretary, Choir Secretary, and worked in the kitchen with her dear friend, Mrs. Erma Jefferson.

Brenda was a woman who truly loved the Lord, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Her life’s work was giving of herself and taking care of others.

Loved ones that proceeded her in death are: her Father Johnny, Mother Lenora, Husband Charles, Sisters Arnetta (Coleman) Spencer and Wilma J. Powdrill, 1-Brother Michael Coleman, 1-Grandchild Nicholas Phillips and 1-Great-great grandchild Demetri. She leaves to carry out her legacy and serve God, her son Rodney Phillips (Okmulgee, OK), Daughter Shelice (Phillips) McKay (Edmond, OK), 4-Brothers Lamar (Boonie) Kelso (Grand Prairie, TX), Johnathan Coleman (Tulsa, OK), Joseph and Timothy Coleman (Wichita, KS), 1-Sister Candace (Coleman) Ford (Wichita, KS), 8-Grandchildren Natasha Phillips (Tulsa, OK), Master Sgt. Daniel Gibson (Tia) (North Carolina), Rodney Phillips Jr (Okmulgee, OK), Sherrel Phillips (Okmulgee, OK), Princiss (Hill) Rockmore (Lewis) (Edmond, OK), Gary Hill (Priscilla) (Edmond, OK), Destiny Hamilton (Okmulgee, OK), and Brianna McKay (Prairie View, TX), 18-Great Grandchildren, a special Great Nephew Roderick Powdrill (OKC, OK) and 1-Uncle Robert Henry (Cathy) (Broken Arrow, OK), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance will be Saturday February 8, 2020 at 1PM at the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee.

Friends may visit Ms. Waller on Friday from 11AM until 4PM in the Okmulgee Chapel.
