Bobby George Sabin, 78

Bobby George Sabin, 78 years of age, passed away on December 31, 2019 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Bobby was born in Muskogee on October 19, 1941. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Jessie Sabin, and his identical twin brother, Billy.
At a young age Bobby moved with his parents and brother to a farm across the road from the Sequoyah Grade School on South Highway 64.
Bobby graduated from the Sequoyah Grade School and Oktaha High School. He was a member of the Oktaha High School 4-H club. He Exhibited animals at the Muskogee Livestock Show, especially the white faced Hereford steers.
Bobby accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Keefeton, as did his twin brother, Billy and their father. It was their desire to be baptized in Spaniard Creek, a tributary flowing into the river near Elm Grove. The baptisms took place on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, along with others being baptized. There were many attendees.
After the death of his parents, Bobby moved back to Muskogee and became a resident of Pleasant Valley Nursing Center. He became a member of First Baptist Church. He rode the church van from the nursing center, attending church services and the Special Joy Sunday School Class, taught by his friend, Leonia Barker. Bobby and Leonia have continued their friendship through the years. He later moved to Brentwood Extended Care where he enjoyed all the recreational activities, such as gospel singing, church services, playing games, eating lots of delicious foods, and occasional outings.
Bobby loved antique dishes and antique furniture. He would find many special treasures on his walks around town and at garage sales and auctions. So much, he had to rent a storage building. He loved local and national car racing and OU Football. Billy and Bobby were known by many as the “OU Boys”.
Bobby is survived by his many friends and staff at Brentwood, his kind and loving caregivers and his longtime special friend, Ardyce Briggs.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ivory Chapel, 904 W. Okmulgee, Muskogee, OK. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Ivory Chapel. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all the devoted friends of Bobby throughout his years.
