Billy Truman Sharp Sr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Jack C Montgomery Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Council Hill, Oklahoma.

Bill was born in Alderson, Oklahoma on February 25, 1934 to Harmon Haskell Sharp and Ruby Marie Brown Sharp Scott. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in which he served during the Korean War. After the military he traveled and worked in the field of construction and carpentry. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. He met Ruby Jean Colbert Sharp in 1961 and they were married for 28 years. Bill was a long time resident of Wilburton, Oklahoma where he raised his family. He also lived in the areas of Hartshorne, Indianola, McAlester, Eufaula and Watonga. During his construction and traveling years he spent extended time in California working in the shipyards, Houston Texas and surrounding areas. He worked on the construction of NASA, bridges in Baytown and in Oklahoma City construction on the State Capitol building.

Bill enjoyed farming, gardening and time with his family. Later in life he met his loving and special long time companion Pat Grubbs and they made a lovely home together.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harmon Sharp and Ruby Marie Sharp-Scott. Also, his wife Ruby Jean Sharp and siblings Jack Sharp of Las Vegas, Nevada; Carol Kirkpatrick of Wilburton, OK; Barbara Wilson of McAlester, OK, Lillian Brooks of Rowlett, Texas, Roy Dean Sharp of Wilburton, OK and great-grand daughter Ruby Cheyenne Sharp of Wilburton, OK.

He is survived by Pat Grubbs of the home; his children – daughter Gwendolyn Suzanne Coxsey of Durant, OK; son Billy Truman Sharp Jr. and wife Emily of Monett, MO, daughter Cynthia Gail Massara of Wilburton, OK, and daughter Billie Jean (Jeannie) Robertson and husband Michael of Mesquite, TX, step-daughters Debra Faye McEvers Erwin and husband Johnny of Paris, TX and Janet McEvers Gilbreath and husband Tom of Durant, OK, several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siblings-brothers: Clinton Sharp, Savanna, OK; Thomas Sharp, Snow, OK; Jimmy Ray Sharp, Finley, OK; Mike Sharp, Eufaula, OK; Richard Sharp, Stigler, OK and a sister Judith Smitherman, Oklahoma City, OK.

Family conducted graveside services will be held on Friday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m, Bache Red Oak Cemetery, McAlester, OK with Minister Michael Robertson officiating.
