Bill Haney, 87, of Muskogee passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. Bill was born to Autry and Bonnie (Collins) Haney on February 20, 1933. Bill grew up in the Warner area where he met the love of his life, Shirley Evans. They were married on September 4, 1953.
Bill graduated from Warner High School. He worked for many years delivering dairy products for the Carnation Milk Company. In his younger years he assembled airplanes in Texas, and later worked at Safeway and Muskogee Public Schools.
Bill worked tirelessly and enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, and going on trips with his family. He especially enjoyed holidays at the cabins at Marval Campground and Greenleaf State Park.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Haney; his parents, Autry and Bonnie Haney; his sisters, Cora Allen and Carol Lea Hubbard; and grandson, Danny Joe Herndon. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Gary Hedgpeth, Patti and Danny Herndon, and Lu Ann Stobaugh of Muskogee. He had been blessed with eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild as well.
The funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Muskogee on February 24th at 2:00 with Rev. Cardell Coppin officiating. Burial will follow at Warner Memorial Cemetery with Garrett Stobaugh, Wesley Perryman, Bart Herndon, Kaiden Perryman, Dawson Herndon and Danny Herndon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt A. Perryman, Jennifer Perryman, Jamie Lea Herndon, J.D. Moore, Dakota Moore and Tiffany Moore.
