Bill joined the United States Army September 19, 1966 in Little Rock, AR. He served his country in Vietnam and received an Honorable Discharge on November 10, 1972 from Ft Meade, MD with the rank of Sergeant. Bill started his career after the military as a transmission mechanic and then worked for many years in various roles at H B Eagan (Camel Tire, Shrader-Bridgeport), eventually retiring from V & M Star. Some of his favorite things were to be outside, to listen to birds sing, and gardening. He was very artistic and enjoyed oil painting and woodworking. Most of all, Bill loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids. The bond between Bill and his grandkids was one of his most cherished things.
