Bess Rose Yandell, 89, of Muskogee, OK was born December 31, 1931 in Sallisaw, OK to Monroe and Gladys (Upton) Taylor and received her Heavenly reward on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Muskogee.
Bess met, fell in love with and later married her best friend, Jonce Yandell. Her working career started with Santa Fe Meat Packing, and many years later retired from Bush’s Canning Company.
She was a faithful member of Calvary Faith Church where she loved going with the Golden Agers to eat out. She started every day reading her Bible. Bess enjoyed camping and taking trips to Branson with the family. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Bess is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jonce Yandell; a son, Charles Yandell; great grandson, Zachary Johnson; and several brothers and sisters.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Mary K. Harris and husband Jackie of Fort Gibson, OK; sons, Billy R. Yandell of Muskogee, OK; and Bobby J. Yandell and wife Sheila of Muskogee, OK; a sister, Susie Carter of Alma, AR; brothers, Willie Taylor and James Taylor both of Fort Gibson, OK; and Jimmy Taylor of Broken Arrow, OK; 12 grandkids; 25 great-grandkids; and 12 great-great grandkids; extended family and many friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM.
A celebration of Bess’ life will be 1PM Friday, January 22, 2021 at her Church, Calvary Faith Church in Fort Gibson with Brother Don Reed officiating.
Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with her grandsons, Chad Yandell, Scott Yandell, Nathan Swisher, Luke Swisher, Caleb Harris and Kolton Christy serving as casket bearers.
