Barbara Ann “Bobbie” (Hulet) Clayton, 84, was born December 29, 1936 at the old Baptist Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma to William and Agnes (Dodson) Hulet and peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her home in Muskogee, with her two favorite nieces and loving husband by her side. She attended several elementary schools in Muskogee, one being Hilldale, which at the time was a one-room School building. She then attended Alice Robertson Junior High and Muskogee Central High School graduating with the Class of 1954. Bobbie met and dated Marshall Clayton while in High School and then married him on March 18, 1955 in Muskogee, OK. Together, they shared 66 years, 2 months and 14 days of life, marriage and memories. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and gave them endless love and memories they will cherish forever. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Muskogee Hope Chapter #401 OES. Bobbie and Marshall followed his career to many different countries. They lived 53 years in Muskogee, OK, 12 years in Tulsa, OK, seven years in Bakersfield, California, two years in Madagascar, three years in Sumatra, Indonesia, and seven years in Tripoli, Libya. Bobbie loved visits to Branson, Missouri and Tunica, Mississippi. Going dancing was her favorite entertainment. She will be missed by many. Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; daughter/granddaughter, Sue Ann Clayton; daughter, Marcia Ann (Clayton) Skelton; granddaughter, Jeanie Marie (Clayton) Cleveland; and a sister, Glenda Kay (Hulet) Fuller. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Marshall of the home; daughter, Cindy (Clayton) Shanks of Webbers Falls, OK; son, David Clayton and wife Debbie of Muskogee, OK; sisters, Nita Jo (Hulet) Stone of Wichita, Kansas and Billie Sue (Hulet) Easterling of Muskogee, OK; brother, W.H. (Billy) Hulet, Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A family visitation will be Monday, June 7, 2021 with family receiving friends 6PM to 8PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson, OK. A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held 11AM Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be at 2:00PM in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Pastor Cody Robinson officiating. George Fletcher, Lance (Bubba) White, Michael Skelton, Quenten Woodard, Billy Hulet and Bob Watts will serve as casket bearers.
