Arthur “Art” Hugh Higley, 83

Born Wednesday, October 23, 1935

Died Thursday, August 1, 2019

Arthur Hugh ‘Art’ Higley, 83, of Fort Gibson was born October 23,1935 in Shawnee, OK to Arthur and Bluie (Wolfe) Higley and peacefully passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Tahlequah.
Art lived most of his life in Tulsa, OK where he attended Central High School. He met and later married the love of his life Judy Gower in Tulsa. A marriage that stood the test of time of 57 years. They started a family and moved to Fort Gibson in 1975.
Art worked in the plastering business for many years. He later went into the boat manufacturing business with his brother Don. They operated Custom Marine Mfg. Company in Muskogee, OK where they built custom Lunker bass and Tahiti and Cobra jet boats.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Don Higley.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Judy of the home; son, Michael Higley and wife Michelle of Fort Gibson; daughter, Jamie Clyma and husband Randy of Claremore; grandchildren, Mycah Higley and husband Wiley Abbott, Madison Higley and Kaylee Clyma; many other beloved family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Art’s life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Fort Gibson Church of Christ with Minister Dan Rouse officiating.
