Anita McLaughlin, 72, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on November 8, 2021. She was born on July 16, 1949 to Clarence B. Johnson and Imogene Warren Johnson in Lawton, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cache High School and attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Anita married Raymond McLaughlin and they shared many years of life, marriage, family and memories together.
She was the Bakery Manager at Walmart until her retirement in 1997. Anita Owned M&A Catering at the Castle of Muskogee and worked as a PA at Oklahoma Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed going fishing and swimming, cooking outdoors and camping with her friends and family. Anita was an avid reader and enjoyed watching crime drama and Judge Judy. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Anita will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Imogen and Clarence Johnson; her husband, Raymond McLaughlin; her son, John Fort; grandson, Nathaniel Miller; brother, Alfred Kilian; and sister, Doris Maikowski.
Anita is survived by her children, Christopher Fort and wife Lauren, Stefanie Stroud and husband Greg, Kay Miller and husband Leo; grandchildren, Tristan Fort and wife Quincy, Jason Stroud, Joshua Miller, John Fort, Kristina Fort, Rachael Fort, Rebecca Fort, Aiden Fort, Brenna Fort and Kennedy Fort; great-grandchildren, Rylan Miller, Hanna, Ava and Leo; and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of Anita’s life will be 10:00AM, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Thomason officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Fort, Aiden Fort, Brandon Stroup, Brandon Thompson, Lloyd “Smokey” Curtis, Gary Brown, Joshua Miller, Jason Stroud and Greg Stroud.
