Alice M. Leahey, 83

Born Friday, January 17, 1936

Died Wednesday, May 29, 2019

Alice Marlene Leahey, 83, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. She was born on January 17, 1936 in Oklahoma City, OK to George Osteen and Ethel (Henry) Osteen. She was a Capitol Hill High School graduate in 1954, Oklahoma City University graduate in 1959, and Central State University graduate in 1973.
She worked at the Veterans Administration as an Adjudicator for many years. She retired in 2000. She also served as an Information Officer in the United States Air Force. Alice married the love of her life, Robert Leahey, on February 6, 1962 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Some of Alice’s favorite hobbies were studying genealogy, traveling, and reading. She was a loyal member of First Baptist Church. She was also a part of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy clubs.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents George and Ethel Osteen.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Leahey; daughter Donna A. Leahey; son Robert Leahey; grandson Alexander S. Wright; granddaughters Rebekah Leahey and Brogan Leahey; and great-granddaughter Celeste Wright.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be 11:00am Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Johnny Derouen officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Kent Osteen, Robert Leahey, and Alex Wright serving as pallbearers.
