Bacone College’s Sport Management and Recreation Management degree programs, the Student Society for Sport and Recreation Management at Bacone College, and the Division of Business will present the Fall 2016 Symposium for Sport and Recreation from noon to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Bacone’s Wacoche Hall.
Five speakers and leaders in different sports industries will speak to the student and college community about their respective careers.
Guy Troupe, the originator of the National Football League ‘Rookie Camp’ will discuss the creation of the Rookie Camp and his player development company Troupe21 and Associates, which he recently sold.
Kevin Fite will return to this year’s event as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Oklahoma State University to discuss current compliance issues in the NCAA.
Russell Beene, former director of athletics at Seminole State College in Oklahoma, and Van Shea Iven, the founder of the Oklahoma High School Express television show that highlights the achievements of high school sports in Oklahoma, will also give presentations.
Kyle Briggs, a team sport sales representative for Dupree Sports of Stillwater, will discuss the many turns and twists that led him into sport retail sales.
