Muskogee County deputies are lauding a “large” drug bust that netted drugs, devices for selling drugs, money and a motorcycle that had been reported stolen in another part of the state.
Charles Ray Benefield, 31, and April Marlissa Weidower, 24, were arrested after a “lengthy” investigation by the Muskogee County Drug Task Force led to a search warrant, according to narcotics investigator Tyler Mohr.
“The residence was at Burbank and 28th Street South,” Mohr said. “We recovered around eleven thousand dollars in cash, some methamphetamine and an ounce of high-grade marijuana.”
The meth was packaged to sell, Mohr said, and the marijuana was of such a quality that it was worth around double what street-grade marijuana is.
“This isn’t the first time he’s been found in possession of methamphetamine,” Mohr said. “Upon completion of the search warrant, we had neighbors coming up and thanking us, because they were sick of the high traffic to the residence.”
Benefield was booked on complaints of drug trafficking after former conviction of a felony, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after former conviction of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia after former conviction of a felony, possession of surveillance equipment during the commission of a felony, knowingly concealing stolen property after former conviction of a felony and possession of drug proceeds after former conviction of a felony.
Weidower was booked on complaints of possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of surveillance equipment during the commission of a felony, knowingly concealing stolen property and possession of drug proceeds.
