Attorney General Drew Edmondson, former Muskogee County district attorney and current candidate for governor, is set to speak to veterans at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital in a few minutes.
About 50 veterans and their families are eating a meal catered by Armstrong Catering and served by the Red Cross as Edmondson prepares to speak.
“I came from a military family,” the Vietnam veteran said. “So when the time came, I was proud to enlist.”
Edmondson said he would fight “to the end of my breath” to ensure veterans benefits are never taken away.
He pledged to put his GI Bill-attained law degree to the most effective use helping the 340,000 Oklahoma military veterans.
“People in uniform remain in harm’s way,” he said. “It’s important to remember those sons and daughters who still need our support.”
“I don’t make many campaign promises,” he said. “But I will never forget Muskogee and I will never, never forget the veterans who served so honorably and well.”
He’s got my vote!
yep, let’s make sure and continue the dynasty!
